The Longhorn Cattle
The Longhorn Cattle on the Longhorn RV and Motel belong to the owners, Art and Charlotte Andersen. Part of their herd they had on Andersen Farms, in South Dakota, these registered cattle will soon make their home on the pastures and hayfields at the Dubois Longhorn RV and Motel.

Chosen for color and horn genetics, all the Longhorn cattle came from registered stock. The bull, pictured above, is the son of a multiple grand champion longhorn bull. As a calf, he broke both tips on his horns, limiting the size he'll grow too, but not limiting the genetics he passes on.
This cow and calf were chosen as the subject of a Curt Bowles painting given to us by friend and gallery owner Terry Ray of West Lives On gallery in Jackson, WY. The Bowles painting is as perfect as the photo, right down to the wild eye on this longhorn cow.
Longhorns are very self-sufficient and easy to calve. They pretty much just take care of themselves, a long time characteristic of the breed.
